In July, volunteers from every chapter - members, husbands and partners, children, and other willing relatives - handed out floppy hats at Coors Field before enjoying the evening's baseball game. In return, the Rockies contributed $500 to our cause.

One way DBE raises funds is to auction off private teas, which we then prepare with the help of many volunteers.
Surveying the table set for tea are DBE members (left to right) Lee Vos, Susan Sanders, Chris Baumgartner, and Janet Arce.

Our thanks to these eight generous ladies who bid on the private tea (see above) at the October 2025 Victorian Tea.
To bid on tea for you and your friends and family, join us this year on October 10 for the 2026 Victorian Tea.

And sometimes, we just have fun! In July, members of Commonwealth Rose enjoyed a get-together at Capital Tea in Denver.
We tried lots of different teas along with delicious sandwiches, scones, and other delights.

It's not all about tea!
For special occasions, such as Burns Night, DBE ladies have been known to raise a wee dram in honor of poet Robert Burns.
In January, we held a private fund raiser to benefit DBE and our causes. We enjoyed six different single malt whiskies with delicious food. Wearing Scottish-themed attire was encouraged, but not not required.

The fun part was learning about the whiskies under the expert guidance of Buz Dabkowski, who has been teaching the art and history of different liquors for decades but has a soft spot in his heart for Scotch whisky. He regaled his audience with Scottish history, poetry and songs.
